Donald Ray "Smokey"  Thompson
Mr. Donald (Smokey) Thompson of Maynardville passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 at U. T. Medical Center. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and a retired truck driver of over 30 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Cleo Thompson. He is survived by wife: Kathy Thompson; sister: Shirley Cheatham; children: Tammy and Danny Woodard, Michael and Jennifer Thompson, Kelsey and Glen Johnson, Bobbie and Jim Walker; 13 grandchildren: A. J., Amber, Emily, Blake, Justin, Kyle, Angel, Joe, Aaron, Nikki, Madison, Will and Chris. Two Great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 8 p.m. Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Chris Sizemore officiating, music by Paul and Stephanie Carter. Military graveside service 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway, Knoxville by the Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. Please meet at the cemetery by 11:20 a.m. Pallbearers: Glen Johnson, Jim Walker, A.J. Blackburn, Jason Johnson, Joe Walker and Aaron Walker. Honorary Pallbearers: Will Thompson and Christopher Walker. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
