Obituary for Anthony James "Andy" Blackburn Sr.

Mr. Anthony James Blackburn, Sr. (Andy)-age 45 of Maynardville, born October 7, 1969 went to be with the Lord Saturday evening, January 17, 2015. Andy was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, James Earl Blackburn; grandparents, Bill and Bernice Blackburn, Herbert and Many Smith. Survived by mother and step-father, Dorothy and Wade Dillard; children, Anthony James (A. J.) Blackburn and Amber Marie Blackburn; grandchildren, Nevaeh Lynette Jordan, Heaven Lee Blackburn and one unborn grandchild, Beanie Savage. Sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Joe Peace; nephew and wife, C. J. and Tosha Peace; niece and husband, Amanda and Jason Muncey; great-niece and great-nephews, Allie-Anna, Levi and Tucker Muncey; step-brother and family, Kevin, Bobbie and Dakota Dillard; step-sister and family, Vickie, Darrell and Ashley Hunt. Andy was a special one of a kind man. All who knew him, knew what he had been through in his life. You can say the man had nine lives…to be hit by a train and survive. He was special and God had a plan for him. Andy made us all smile and laugh. He had the biggest heart around. Andy will be missed by many and loved by all. May his love and laughter continue on forever. It’s not good-bye, just see ya later. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m., Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Jason E. Muncey, Rev. Joe Nicely officiating with music by Natasha and Connie McBee. Interment 11 a.m. Friday, Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers: A.J. Blackburn, Lee Yadon, Chris Shepherd, Allen Collins, Russ Tolliver, C. J. Peace. Honorary pallbearers: First cousins; step-brother: Kevin Dillard; close friends: David Brogan, Brian Roark and Jack Troutt. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
