Obituary for Rev. Dennis E. Johnson

Rev. Dennis E. Johnson-age 62 of Powder Springs passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at Physicians Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. He was a member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church and attended Dutch Valley Baptist Church. He started his calling as a preacher at the young age of 18. He has pastored many churches throughout his ministry. He was employed by J & F Mechanical. His devotion in life was to God and his family. His passion was farming and his intent for retirement was to farm full time. Preceded in death by father: Edward Johnson, Sr.; mother: Ella S. Johnson; brother: James Johnson. He is survived by wife of 42 years: Carolyn Johnson; sons: Dennis David Johnson, Aaron Johnson; daughter: Heather Johnson Carpenter; Six grandchildren: Andrew, Alisha and Levi Johnson, Luke and Colt Johnson and Heavenlee Carpenter. Brothers: Wade, Denver, E. Doyle, Dwight, Edward (Junior) Johnson; sister: Barbara Phifer. Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Jimmy Frye, Rev. Mark Johnson, Rev. Cody Pratt officiating with music by the Hurst Family. Interment 1 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, Doyle Wayne Needham Cemetery. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
