Obituary for Michael Lynn "Mike" Shelton

Mike Shelton-age 55 of Washburn passed away peacefully Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home. He was a member of Mt. Eager Baptist Church. Mike was a truck driver and employed by Con-Way Freight. He had also been a general contractor and musician for years. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved to ride his Harley-Davidson.

Preceded in death by mother, Maxine Mayes Shelton; grandparents, Rev. Loy and Orpha Shelton; Nellie Beason Jessee and Paris Walter Mayes.

Survivors: son, Seth Franklin Shelton, Maynardville; fiancée, Teresa Crisp; father, Frank Shelton; sister, Debbie Boles and husband, David; niece, Misty Bailey; special cousin, Steve Nicely, all of Washburn; step-children, Justin Crisp and Daniel Crisp; step-grandchildren, Kayden and Emerson Crisp and a host of cousins and other family members.

The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Monday, April 25, 2016 with funeral service to follow at 8 P.M. Monday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Richard Nicley, Rev. Gary Donehew officiating with music by The Williams Family. Family and friends will meet at 10 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home to go in procession to Needham Cemetery, Washburn for an 11 A.M. interment. Pallbearers: Tim Childress, Norman Branson, Justin Crisp, Daniel Crisp, Jeff Hopson, Richie Nicley. Honorary Pallbearers: Steve Nicely, Jason Beeler and all his musician friends. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
