Condolence: Rest in Peace!!! You were admired by many with your great talent in teaching. I will remember our visit to your farm with Ralph Grubb my grandfather. My thoughts and prayers to your family. Heaven has a brilliant angel.

Condolence: Mr. Shumate was the best teacher ever. I took Advanced Calculus as an elective at The Univeristy of Tennessee and made an "A" in the class because of this brilliant man. He made calculus seem so easy. He was my favorite teacher. I am very blessed to have known him. He encouraged me to go to The University of Tennessee. I followed his advice and earned a bachelor's degree as well as a master's degree. I am thankful to Mr. Shumate for sharing his wealth of knowledge with us "Little Kiddies". He has impacted many lives and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace "Little Kiddie".
