Obituary for Alma Ruth Smith Paul
Alma Paul-age 83 of Maynardville passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Alma was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and worked at Standard Knitting Mills and Union Knit Wear. She is preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Paul; parents, Jack and Nola Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Arley Tharp; brother, Paul Smith; brother-in-law, Don Hensley; great-nephews, Tucker Inklebarger, Sylas Jay and Creed Richardson.
She is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Darrell Irick; brother, Mike Smith, all of Maynardville; sister, Martha Smith Hensley of Morristown; sister-in-law, Judy Smith of Maynardville. Several nieces and nephews. Alma’s best friends, Brenda Irick and Judy Smith stood beside her till the end. Alma loved them like sisters.
The family will receive friends 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 with funeral service to follow at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Fred Goodson officiating with music by the Cedar Grove Quartet. Interment 10:30 a.m. Friday, Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville with Rev. Brian Cooke officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. at the funeral home to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Donnie Irick, Melvin Inklebarger, Jeff Tharp, Mark Smith, Colton Smith, Nathan Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers: Steven Shumate and Chris Irick. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
