Obituary for Bill Ray Hall

Billy Ray Hall-age 75 of Sharps Chapel, loving husband and father of six children passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home. Bill was born May 13, 1946 in Roda, Virginia, the son of the late Lewis Albert and Ethel Hall. He was a coal miner and truck driver for many years. On December 17, 1971, he married Melba Jean Aldrich. They had four daughters, Sherrie, Melinda, Jeannie and Peggy; two sons, Billy and A. J.
Bill had a passion for music. He played in church and for community functions. He played the banjo, lead guitar and bass. He was known for his smile, gentleness and kind spirit. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Albert; mother, Ethel and brother, Albert.

Survivors include his wife, Melba and his six children, Sherrie, Melinda, Jeannie, Peggy, Billy and A. J.; brother, Donnie; sisters, Charlotte, Glenda and Della. He has 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The body will be returned to his beloved family home, 338 Walker Road, Sharps Chapel for viewing after 4 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021. Graveside service and burial 1 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the family cemetery, “Blessed Hope Cemetery”. Flowers and donations may be sent to the home. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
