Brenda J. Burkhart-age 78 of Knoxville, born April 25, 1944 in Harlan County, Kentucky entered the gates of Heaven Thursday, November 17, 2022 with her family by her side. Friends and family will miss Brenda’s bossy demeanor and her hands-on hips sassy self; but more importantly, we will miss her contagious smile, her caring nature and her genuine love for everyone she met. Brenda was preceded in death by parents, Denvir, Sr. and Bertha Pace Burkhart; brothers, Arnold Burkhart, Denvir Burkhart, Jr., Terry Burkhart; sisters, Sue Burkhart, Genelga Burkhart Bailey, Joyce Blevins and Sharon Burkhart.

Brenda leaves behind her brothers, Paul and Sonny Burkhart and a large extended family. Also surviving is her favorite nephew, Rick Fields, aka “E” and her best friend/crafting partner, Angel Fields. Left to celebrate her life is her second family, Mike and Barbara Sweet, Layton Wade, who she affectionately called “Babe” for 16 years and John/Kathy Hensley and family. Brenda also leaves behind the many special people of Evergreen Life Services that loved her for over 14 years.

The family will receive friends 2-3:30 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022 with a short service, 3:30 p.m. Monday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Josh Fields will present the eulogy. Interment following at Ousley Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers: Randy Hickman, Billy Burkhart, Woody Burkhart, Steve Burkhart, Layton Wade, Josh Fields, Rick Fields.
