Obituary for Cecil D. "Dob" Helton

Cecil D. “Dob” Helton-age 88 of Washburn took his Heavenly flight to be with the Lord 11:19 P.M. Friday, February 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong member of Elm Springs Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since 1988 and spent his life helping others as well as jis dedication to serving the Lord. He was preceded in death by parents, Anderson and Mary Jane Helton along with eight brothers and three sisters.

Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Christine Helton; special niece raised like a daughter, Kim (Donnie) Graves; grandchildren, Seth, Tyler, Hunter and Whitley Graves; sister, Ruth Bailey, all of Washburn. Several nieces, nephews and friends. Caregivers, Kim and Donnie Graves, U T Hospice of Morristown. The family would like to express a special thank you to Pastor Jamie and his wife for their love and support during this time.

Funeral services 1 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021, Elm Springs Baptist Church, Rev. James Williams officiating with music by Jerry Epperson and family; Loretta Graves. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Washburn. Pallbearers: Donnie Graves, Seth Graves, Tyler Graves, Hunter Graves, Billy Ray Needham, Ernest Nicely. Honorary Pallbearers: Jerry Helton, Rob Saunders, Roy Graves, Foy Beeler. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
