David James Hickman, Jr. – age 49 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord suddenly Tuesday evening, August 2, 2022 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. David was a graduate of Horace Maynard High School, Class of 1991 and was an employee of Wilson Construction Company for the past 12 years. Preceded in death by father, David James Hickman, Sr.; mother, Anna Marie (Buckner) Hickman; grandparents who raised him, Hubert and Alice Buckner; brother, Myke Collier; grandparents, Joe and Illene Hickman.

Survivors: wife of 30 years, Melissa Ann (Savage) Hickman; daughter and her fiancé, Preslee Hickman and Nathan Allen; three sisters, Ava Padgett and husband, Allen; Susan Acuff and husband, Doug; Kristina Terry. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Friday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Allen Rutherford officiating with music by The Williams Family. Interment 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, Dyer Cemetery, Powder Springs. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Uno, Mike Gilmore, Manny, William Wilson, Colton Rutherford, Alex Padgett. Honorary Pallbearers: Bobby Kitts, Dos, Alex Lester, Allen Padgett, Brandon Allen, Johnny Savage, John David Savage.

The family will be at the home of Johnny and Rebecca Savage, 507 Walker Ford Road, Maynardville. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
