Obituary for Donna Nicely Lanford
Donna Nicely Lanford-age 65 of Washburn passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at U. T. Medical Center following a sudden illness.
One last gasp, eyes opened, she looked at her family, then she was in Heaven. Days at her side, praying for a miracle, then the greatest miracle of all, she joined her parents, Homer and Sissy Nicely, and her brothers, Fritzie and Ernie in Heaven. Donna suffered a massive stroke Feb.14 and the angels came for her on Feb 16. She was the wife of Clifford Lanford for 37 years. The baby sister to Debbie Crow (Gordie) and Pat Nicely (Kathy) for 65 years. Her niece and nephews will remember her as the fun aunt. Her friends as the kind of crazy, loveable, caring friend. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Lanford and Marcelyn (Phil) Kirby. Per her request, no funeral.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 4 from 2-4pm at the home of Pat and Kathy Nicely, 3714 Maloney Road, Knoxville. No flowers, please. Donna loved animals. Please donate to the Union County Animal Shelter 719 Hickory Star Road, Maynardville TN 37807 in her memory. We don't say goodbye, we say thank you, Lord, for the miracle of Donna Jean Nicely Lanford.
