Obituary for Doyle Eugene "Gene" Seivers

Doyle Eugene “Gene” Seivers-age 73 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 21, 2019 at his home. Gene was a Christian and held a strong belief in his Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a graduate of Gibbs High School. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War serving as a Medical Corpsman. He was wounded on two separate occasions in Viet Nam and was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal; also, the National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal, Overseas Service Bar, air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Medics Bade and Marksman Badge. Preceded in death by parents, Samuel Creed and Nana Seivers; brothers, R. C. Seivers and Bobby Seivers; sister, Wanda Eldridge and three siblings who died in infancy, William Thomas, Johnny Josephine and Creedy Bernice.

Survivors: Children, Tammy, Gina, Katie, Billy, Ryan, Sarah, Rusty and Jennifer; several grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Ward, Sandra Stephens, Mona Sands; brothers, Harold, Darrell and Donald Seivers. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

Military graveside service and interment 9:30 A.M. Monday, December 30, 2019 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 East Gov. John Sevier Highway, Knoxville with honors by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard. Family and friends may meet at the cemetery by 9:15 A.M. Monday, December 30, 2019. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
