Eddie J. V. Buckner-age 72 of Luttrell. After a two-year battle with cancer. He fought a good fight and his battle was won 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 when he went to be with the Lord. He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Ailordale Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Cecil Buckner; sister Loretta Beeler, Faye Williams, Margaret Arnwine and his beloved grandson, Nathan Buckner.
Survived by his wife of 53 years, Joann Buckner; son, Marty (Marla) Buckner; granddaughter, Paige Hayes; great-grandsons, Jaxson, Brock and Hudson Hayes. Sisters, Patsy (Dennis) Farmer, Judy (Randall) Davis, Helen Cooke, Jim (Patsy) Buckner, Basil (Linda) Buckner. A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 with funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Friday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Marty Buckner, Rev. Adam Nicely officiating with music by Alivia and Arabella Nicely, Mike Smith and Mary Norton. Interment 2 p.m. Saturday, Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers: Conley Tharp, Dennis Dyer, Dennis Farmer, Scott Ray, Hollis Beeler, Richie Chesney, Honorary Pallbearer: Jaxson Hayes. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
