Obituary for Freddie Edward Ellis

Freddie Edward Ellis-age 81 of Washburn, born October 26, 1940 in Bristol, Virginia to Verlin and Thelma Ellis passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Freddie was an active, healthy man until he obtained his second Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination on September 28, 2021. Shortly afterward, his health started declining rapidly. By mid-November, he was a shell of the man he had been. He was admitted to the hospital November 19 and the infectious disease physician confirmed from testing, that an enzyme in the COVID vaccine had attacked his kidneys and liver. Freddie’s kidneys recovered. However, the damage to his liver precipitated a fast-moving liver cancer. Freddie came home to live his last days on Monday, November 29th. The Lord mercifully took him home the next day.

Freddie loved his family above everything else. He was the most selfless man, and an example of a true Christian. We were blessed to have him as a father. He brought us up in a Christian home and trained us to follow Christ. Thank you, Dad!

Meeting Freddie in Heaven are his loving wife of 54 years, Anne Lynette Hardy Ellis; his father, Verlin Haskel Ellis; his mother, Thelma Louise Griffin Ellis and his brother, Guy Haskel Ellis.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Lisa Anne Ellis Morrow (Tom); his son, Michael Edward Ellis (Wendy); his grandchildren, Daniel (Danny) Thomas Morrow, Amanda (Mandy) Rose Morrow and Sara Brooke Jarnigan Hartman (Bradford) and his great-grandchildren, Maddison (Maddie) Brooke Hartman and McKenzie Lee Hartman. He will also be missed by his dear Aunt Mary, his cousin, Bill Griffin and a host of other relatives.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Friday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Gary Donehew officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Washburn. Pallbearers: Relatives and friends.
