Obituary for Gladys Edith Lynch

Gladys Lynch-age 99, of Luttrell, born September 27, 1923, in Rocky Flats, Sevier County and was a lifelong member of Rocky Flats Baptist Church. Gladys was a member of the former Blazing Star Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron for two years. She was called home to her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2023 with her family by her side. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Gladys was the oldest of nine children of Burnett and Sarah McKinney. Her favorite times were spent traveling and fishing with her late husband, Willis. She was a retiree of Palm Beach and was a passionate seamstress and gardener. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners and spending time with her family and friends. She was a strong, independent lady living on her own and putting out a full garden in the rocky soils of Luttrell, Tennessee late into her life. Gladys was welcomed at heaven's gates by her parents, her husband, Harlan Willis Lynch and her son, Meredith Ramsey.

She leaves behind her children Sheryl Wyatt, Judy (Buddy) Baker and Harlan (Melissa) Lynch; grandchildren, Paula (Michael) Brown, Brent (Sherissa) Lynch, Michele (Tommy) Carmley and Kimberly Simpson; great grandchildren, Wyatt Brown, Alivia Brown, Josie Lynch and Emma Lynch; brother, Dwynn McKinney and sister Lois Frady as well as several other family members.

The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Darrell Williams officiating with music by The Williams Family. A procession to Luttrell Cemetery will immediately follow with a graveside service. Pallbearers: Brent Lynch, Wyatt Brown, Alton Hobby, Jay Lynch, Michael Brown, and Allen Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers: Carl Burnett, Ricky Merritt, Johnny Merritt, Ray Beeler, Kenny Beeler, Charlie McCarter, Robby Taylor. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
