Obituary for Hugh W. (Jim) Greene Jr.

Hugh (Jim) Greene, Jr.-age 74 of Powder Springs went home to be with the Lord Thursday evening, October 6, 2022 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Jim was a saved man and was a faithful longtime member of Powder Springs Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and he served in the Viet Nam War. He was employed at Plasti-Line Corporation in Powell for many years and later worked at Braxton-Bragg before retirement. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Martha Greene; brother, Rick Greene; sisters, Shirley Perry, Beverly Clapp and Peggy Dalton; nephew, Tim Greene and niece, Cathy Reynolds.

Survivors include his loving and caring wife of 39 years, Linda (Clay) Greene; son and daughter-in-law, James (Petey) and Cecilia Greene of Clinton who he loved very much; sisters, Barbara (Chick) Booker of Washburn; Brenda (Wade) Beason of Sharps Chapel; brother, Randy (Pauline) Greene of Washburn; sister-in-law, Barbara (Joey) Bailey of Powder Springs; brother-in-law, Kenny Clapp of Washburn. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Brittany Williams of Clinton, his step-grandsons, Logan and Ian Searcy of Clinton; his little great-grandkids who he loved dearly, Mason and Hannah, his special nieces, Amanda Clapp, Kim Partin and Paula Bowlin; nephews, Calvin (Chelsey) Greene, Tyler Greene and Derek Dalton.

The body may be viewed 12 to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the funeral home. Funeral services 1 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2022, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Bob Zavattieri, Rev. Darrell Williams, Rev. Greg Hurst officiating with music by Brad Capps. Interment will follow at Doyle Wayne Needham Cemetery, Powder Springs with military graveside rites by The Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Logan Searcy, Ian Searcy, Kenny Clapp, Calvin Greene, Tyler Greene, Brad Hill. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
