J R Masingo-age 64 of Sharps Chapel went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Claiborne Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Former employee of England-Corsair in Tazewell. Preceded in death by parents, Sillus and Mattie (Ray) Masingo; sister, Mossie Masingo; brother, Charles (Chub) Masingo.

Survivors: wife of 38 years, Janie (Duncan) Masingo of Sharps Chapel; two daughters, Leslie Masingo Smith and husband, Joshua of New Tazewell; Rachel Masingo Collins and husband, Travis of Sharps Chapel. Four grandchildren, Jaedyn and Chase Smith; Ella and Joseph Collins. Sisters, Frances Kistler; Kitty Sharp and husband, Don; Elizabeth O’Brien; Terri Relford; brothers, Steve Masingo and wife, Dreama; Verlin Masingo and wife, Debbie; Jack Masingo and wife, Teresa. Special mother-in-law, Rachel Duncan; special sister-in-law, Tammy Neff. Many nieces, nephews and special family members along with a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2022 with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. Friday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Randy Moore officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Saturday, Masingo Family Cemetery, Sharps Chapel. Pallbearers: Kevin Collins, Josh Smith, Luke Sharp, Wayne Ellison, Steve Masingo, Verlin Masingo. Honorary Pallbearers: Chase Smith, Joseph Collins, Hunter Neff, Travis Collins. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
