Obituary for James Bruce Williams

James Bruce Williams-age 82 of Maynardville went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, December 14, 2020 U. T. Medical Center. He was a proud member and trustee of Alder Springs Baptist Church. He had been the Judge for the City of Maynardville for the past 16 years. He was preceded in death by son, Tommy Williams; grandson, Alex Williams; parents, Jim and Ora Dell Williams; sisters, Doris Johnson and Brenda Elmore.

He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 64 years, Wanda (Lay) Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Teresa Williams; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Tony Bennett; Phyllis and Brian Jessie; Karen and Fred Wenger. Grandchildren, Matt Wenger, Jennifer Van Dien, Amanda Seaton, A. J. Bennett, Jessica West, Sarah Dixon, Zachary Williams and Leslie Jessie; great-grandchildren, Alex West, Sammy West, Emeri Seaton, Elania Seaton and Papaw’s little buddies, Thomas Bennett and Jordan Dixon. Brothers and their wives, Wade and Brenda Williams; Jerry and Dottie Williams; Don and Susan Williams. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Fred Hurst for his care of our daddy throughout many years.

Due to Covid-19, you may visit the funeral home at your convenience 1-7 P.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Funeral services 7 P.M. Wednesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Jimmy Davidson, Rev. Mike Viles officiating. Interment 11 A.M. Thursday, Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. Thursday for the funeral procession. Face covering is requested and social distancing will be observed.
