Obituary for James Henry Owens
James Henry Owens-age 64 of Sharps Chapel went home to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, December 21, 2021 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by mother, Panzie Sherritze; brother, Robert Owens; grandson, Alton McKeen.
Survivors: son, Matthew and Victoria Owens of Sharps Chapel; daughters, Crystal and John Shepherd of Knoxville; Jennifer and Billy McKeen of Rose Hill, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Braxton Hunley, Baylee Hunley, Blakelyn Hunley, Brayln Owens, Bradley Hylton, MaKaila Irwin, Winter McKeen. Sister, Patricia Masingo; brother, Tracy Sherritze, both of Sharps Chapel. Nephews, Arlos Masingo, II; Travis Masingo, Thomas Masingo, Dakota Sherritze, Joshua Sherritze along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. Thursday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Greg Sharp officiating. Interment 10 a.m. Friday, December 24, 2021 at Phillip Keck Cemetery, New Tazewell. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Friday to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Matthew Owens, Braxton Hunley, Lucas Masingo, Arlos Masingo, II, Paul Collins, Jason Morris, Henry Smallwood, Bradley Hylton; Honorary Pallbearers: Travis Masingo, Thomas Masingo, Jack Shoffner, Dave Barnard. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell mortuary, Maynardville.
