Janet Marlene Godfrey-age 54 of Maynardville passed away Thursday morning, January 12, 2023 at her home. She was a graduate of Horace Maynard High School, Class of 1986 and also attended the Tennessee Technology Center at Knoxville and South College. Preceded in death by mother, Jewell Cole Edwards; two brothers, John Martin Edwards and James Michael “Little Ed” Edwards; grandparents, William and Jessie Edwards, Woodrow and Hettie Cole, nephew, Adam Edwards.

Survivors: husband, Ronald Godfrey; son, Derek and Krystal Williams; grandchildren, Emori Grace and Alexander “Xander” Williams. Father, John Edwards; brother, Jason and Donna Edwards; aunt, Wilma Lou Tolliver; father and mother-in-law, Len and Mary Godfrey. Step-children, Kimberly Nicley, Ronnie Godfrey, Tahmeca Mayfield, Amy Moore; step-grandchildren, Alyssa Sands, Lavada Moore, Mahlaya Mayfield, Ty Moore, Caden Lee, Skylar Moore, Gabriel and Wyatt Rafinski. Nieces and nephews: Stacy Edwards, Angle Edwards, Kimberly Edwards, Casey Edwards.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Saturday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Tim Sharp, Rev. Greg Sharp officiating. Interment 12 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery, New Tazewell. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Sunday to go with the procession.
