Jerry Lee Gunnels-age 70 of Maryville passed away Friday morning, August 26, 2022 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a retired employee of Vulcan Materials in Maryville. He enjoyed riding his golf cart around the subdivision with his dogs, Pennee and Nickee. Preceded in death by parents, Bill and Ethel Gunnels.

Survivors: wife of 20 years, Jeri Bradshaw Gunnels; daughter, Kate Alligood and husband, Jesse; granddaughter, Sydney Rop, all of Maryville. Seven brothers and sisters, Alvin and Nancy Gunnels of Andrews, NC; Cathy Raxter of Peachland, NC; Roger and Glenda Gunnels of Andrews, NC; James Gunnels of Marphy, NC; Ellen Roy and husband, Chris of Cardwell, Australia; Helen and Mike Sorrell of Murphy, NC; Robin and wife, Rosa Gunnels of Cullowee, NC. Several nieces and nephews. Special cousin, Ellen Stickles of Manchester, Maryland.

The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2022 with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Sunday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. John Justice officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers: relatives and friends. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
