Obituary for Mary Margaret Buckner Crawford

Mary Margaret (Buckner) Crawford-age 73 of Maynardville, 1948-2022 passed away Friday morning, January 28, 2022 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Well did our Lord look down the years when he saw our beloved mother, when he pinned Proverbs 31: 10-31. Her own works sing her praises. Born in New York and raised in Tennessee. She was sent to school at the early age of 4. She worked in the garden that kept her family fed and helped raise her two younger siblings throughout her younger years. When she graduated Gibbs High School at the age of 16, she went to a two-year college. When she graduated, rather than pursue a career as a business woman, she married the love of her life and became a working mother and homemaker. She worked at several different jobs before settling at Bike Athletic and finished her career there. Once retired, she took up the job of getting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren raised. It was a life-long endeavor. Saved at an early age, she followed Christ her whole life and tried to be an example for others to live by. She was a former member of New Start Baptist Church, the wife of a deacon and a church treasurer. She loved to travel and see the country. Her favorite past times were crochet, cross stitch, puzzles and computer games. She always tried to make everyone’s path easier and load light. Preceded in death by husband of 54 years, Wayne Crawford, Sr.; parents, Ralph and Geneva (Eastridge) Buckner; brothers-in-law, Troy Crawford, Jerry Rosenbaum, Judson Crawford, Vic Carter; sister-in-law, JoAnne Roeslein.

Survived by children, Wayne A., Jr.; Tammy, Jennifer, Christopher, Jonathon and Wayne A. Crawford, III; Daughter-in-law, Dee Crawford; grandchild, Kristy Crawford; great-grandchildren, Araya and Autumn Beeler.
