Obituary for Peggy Sue Nicley

Peggy Sue Nicley-age 82 of Washburn was born February 23, 1938 and went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Willow Ridge Nursing Home. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church of Washburn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Sr. and Mertie Nicley; infant sister and brother, Georgia and Curtis; sisters, Martha Capps and Betty Collins; brothers, Beecher, Fred, Virgil, John and Herbert, Jr.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and their extended families, sister-in-law, Betty Nicley; brother-in-law, Frank “Cotton” Collins; special friend, June Wolfenbarger; special friend and roommate, Opal Taylor; special friend whom she got to meet twice, Doyle Lawson and his music family. The family wishes to thank all of the nurses at Willow Ridge Nursing Home for all of their care and love for Peggy during her years there and to the Washburn School staff and kids, she loved you dearly.

Due to COVID-19, you may visit the funeral home at your convenience 1- 6 P.M. Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home Friday at 1:15 P.M. to go in procession to the Liberty Hill Cemetery, Washburn for 2 P.M. graveside services with Rev. Jerry Epperson officiating. Great nephews will serve as pallbearers. Masks will be required at the service.
