Obituary for Peter Weymouth Green

Peter W. Green passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday morning July 25, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
This loving husband, father of 4, grandfather (Umpy) to 10 and great grandfather to 2 was a man of faith, love, strength, wit and wisdom.
Pete loved to compliment workers, admired a strong handshake, had a great smile and the absolute best sense of humor.
He grew up in Lubec, Maine. He loved the ocean and to tell stories about the 25’ tides in the Bay of Fundy, growing up on the Klondike, and playing basketball. He was a long-haul truck driver and a successful logistics manager for 30+ years.
This man will be greatly missed by all who loved him, but are comforted by the fact that we will meet again someday. His father, Garnet Green, his mother, Peggy O’Hara Green, granddaughter, Taylor Elise Benton preceded Pete in death.
Those left behind are his wife, Janice Green, daughter, Kimberly Benton (Keith) and their daughter, Gracie; his son, David Green (Amy Deschaux) and grandchildren, Michael, Patrick and Nathan; daughter, Bethany Courchene and grandchildren, Jill and Steven; son, Joshua Green (Julie Moore) and grandchildren, Caitlin, Austin & Nick.
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Alzheimer’s foundation or First Baptist Church of Maynardville would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Maynardville, 730 Main Street, Maynardville, Tennessee 37807 with Pastor Cory Carroll officiating. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville, Tennessee.
