Obituary for Swan Junior Evans

Swan Junior Evans-age 86 of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 22, 2023, at his home. Swan faithfully attended Alder Springs Baptist Church for many years. He retired from Roddy Manufacturing Company in 1996 and then went to work with Cooke Mortuary until 2016. Swan loved his cows and riding around in his tractor and his dog “Little Girl”. Preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Louella Loy Evans; parents, Woodrow and Vennie Evans; brother, Willie Evans.

Survived by daughter, Sonia Hill and son-in-law, Kendall Hill, beloved granddaughter, Izzy Hill. Brother, Bobby (Charlene) Evans; sister-in-law, Darlene Evans, Sue Breeding; brother-in-law, Wayne (Billy) Loy. Numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of friends. Swan will be sadly missed by his daughter who cared for him for many years. Special thanks to his caregivers, Barb and Alice and Amedisys Hospice. Special thank you to Preacher Jimmy.

Friends may pay their condolences and sign the register book 9 am till 5 pm Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary. Graveside service and interment 11 am Thursday, Evans Family Cemetery, Maynardville, Rev. Jimmy Davidson officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10 am Thursday to go with the funeral procession. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union County Humane Society or Paulette Volunteer Fire Department. Pallbearers: Billy Breeding, Keith Norris, Jason Malone, Bryson Reed, Dwight Brantley, Steve Coppock, Greg Garren, Benny Henson.
