Obituary for Vernon Edward Williams

Vernon Edward Williams, 77, of Luttrell, passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2022. Vernon was born on May 7, 1945, in Luttrell, TN. He graduated from Horace Maynard High School in 1963. He retired from Frito Lay with over twenty-five years of experience as a salesman and regional district manager. He joined the sales staff at Bob Cox Camper Country selling campers for over ten years. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam war where he served as a Military Policeman. During retirement, Vernon enjoyed many outdoor activities such as riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, lake life, and working on antique cars. For the last few years, he really enjoyed watching his grandsons play baseball.

Vernon is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Goldie Williams; and brother, Carl Williams.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Sue Acuff Williams; former wife, Sharon (Satterfield) Busler; son, Josh (Misty)Williams; sisters, Faye Beeler and Thelma Beeler; brother, Roy Williams; grandchildren, Hayden and Jackson Williams; and many nieces and nephews. The family of Vernon Williams wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Tennova Hospital.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary. Graveside service 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Dyer Cemetery, Luttrell, Rev. Ronnie Beeler officiating with military honors to be presented by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.
