Obituary for Jeanette "Jet" Altizer (Osborne)

Mrs. Jeanette Altizer-age 84 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord Thursday afternoon, May 28, 2015 at Physicians Regional Medical Center. She had lived in Maynardville since 1972 and was formerly of Squire, West Virginia. She was a member of Miller’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Maynardville. Jet was an avid baseball fan; the Reds, Braves and Cubs were among her favorites. Preceded in death by husband, Kenneth W. Altizer; son, Albert Harold Altizer; parents, Charlie Elbert and Clercie Meadows Osborne; sister, Leah Whitt; brother, Larry A. Osborne. Survivors: sister: Joyce Hughes, Harrisburg, PA; brothers; Eugene Osborne, Johnny Osborne, both of St. Augustine, FL; Doug Osborne, Maynardville; aunt, Marie Osborne Thacker of Benton, TN; Several nieces and nephews; along with her new friends and family at Tender Loving Care in Maynardville where she had resided the past five months. Special friends include JoAnn Smelser, Anna Todd and Andy Savage. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015 with funeral services to follow at 5 p.m., Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Ken Luton, Rev. James Whitson officiating with music by the Paris Woods Family. Interment 2 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 at Maplewood Cemetery, Tazewell, Virginia with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
