Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Hobert Brown can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Hobert Brown

Hobert Brown-age 84 of Corryton, Tn. born June 12, 1931, passed away June 21, 2015. Highly decorated Army Staff Sergeant serving in the Korean Campaign. Serving from 1952 until 1960 receiving the following decorations, two Bronze Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal, UN Service Medal, and Command Leadership Braid. Owned and operated Brown’s TV for 35 years until retirement. Proceeded in death by parents Charlie and Ella Brown; wives, Beulah and Wanda Brown; son, Darrell Brown; brother, Herbert Brown. Survived by best and special friend, Mary Lou Corum; sister, Edna McAfee; sons and daughters-in-law, Chip and Missy Brown, Mike and Shirley Brown; grandsons, Thomas, Dustin and Eric Brown and his buddy, granddaughter, Hannah Brown. Step daughters, Cheryl Brantley, and Janice Idol. Step-granddaughters, Paige and Morgan Brantley. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m., Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Richard Nicley with music by Linda Nicley. Interment 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, Knoxville with military honors by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
