Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Smith can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

John  Smith
Mr. John Smith-age 81 of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 10, 2015 at North Knoxville Medical Center following a brief illness. He was a member of Hubbs Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Bert, Sr. and Gertie Smith; brothers, Jack, Herb, Sam, Walt, Frank and Lee Smith; mother and father-in-law, Earl and Opal Bates; brother-in-law, Clifton Bates. Survivors: wife of 27 years, Ina (Bates) Smith; son, Johnny Ray Smith and wife, Katrina; Danny Smith and wife. Marty; step-son, Lionel Tharp and wife, Lisa; grandson, Justin Smith; granddaughters, Kandace Muncey and husband, Eli; Kayla Smith; step-grandchildren, Darren Relford and wife, Brittney, Kimberly Relford; two special step-grandsons, Jake and Jared Tharp; great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Muncey; brother, Bert (Black) Smith, Jr.; loving brothers and sisters-in-law; Denny and Cindy Bates and family; Sheldon and Sharon Bates and family; Wanda Bates and family; Velma McHone and family; Loretta and David Staley and family; Kathryn and Gordon Reynolds and family. A host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Glen Beeler, Rev. Bob Zavattieri officiating. Music by Brenda Beeler, Mark Smith, Ray Bull and Justin Smith. Interment 1 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Dyer Cemetery, Luttrell. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 12 noon Thursday to go in procession. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
