Theodore Roosevelt  Messer
Theodore Roosevelt Messer-age 88 of Washburn passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at his home following a lingering illness with his family by his side. He was of the Baptist faith. Retired employee of Mormon Transmotive and was a U S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Opal Nicley Lay Messer; children, David (Marcia) Messer, Gary (Lisa) Messer, Theddie (Bob) Lawson; step-children, Sandra (Stacy) Fox, Larry (Bonnie) Lay, Mark Lay; grandchildren, Shane (Jennifer) Messer, Amanda Messer, Corey (Emily) Messer, Abbey Lawson, Allissanne Fox, Stacy Fox, II, Cody Lay, Sam Lay, Megan, Will and Collin Jernigan. Five great-grandchildren. Sister, Faye Reese; brother, David (Louise) Messer. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 with funeral services to follow at 6 p.m. Saturday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Bob Lawson officiating with music by Rev. Richard and Linda Nicley. Interment 2 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015, Dogwood Church Cemetery, Kingston, TN. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m. Sunday. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
