The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Karen Baker can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Smile and look pretty

I haven't known Baker as long as everyone else, but we must have known each other in a previous life. That is the only way I can explain the instant connection we had. It was as if we had known each other our whole life. We liked the same things and we didn't like the same things. When I saw that twinkle in her eye I knew exactly what she was thinking because I was thinking the same thing. We used to call each other sister/cousin and even had people tell us they could see the family resemblance (which was hysterical since we are not related). I have so many fun, crazy, hilarious, memories of Karen. I also have some tragic memories as I was with her on Norris Lake the day of her accident. She put on a very brave face from that day on but the truth is she never really recovered from that horrible injury. But Karen was tough and she never let on to just anybody. If she ever let you see her cry then you were someone that she trusted. We had good times after that day and she would give me that Baker grin when i would tell her "come on Hoppy", but it was never the same. She carried a sadness with her after that day. My heart is broke but she is not sad any more and for that I'm grateful. No more tears Baker! I will love & miss you forever!
