Obituary for Doffise M. Williams

Mr. Doffise M. Williams-age 83 of Luttrell passed away suddenly Monday morning, September 26, 2016 at his home. He was a loving husband, a great father and grandfather. Doffise was a devoted member of Mountain View Church of God and ordained as a deacon in 1969 having served honorably and faithfully as Chairman of the Deacon Board for over 50 years. Retired employee of Beverly Steel. Preceded in death by wives, Ruth Williams and Leda Williams; infant son, Ronnie Williams; parents, James and Pearl Williams; sister, Lela Williams.

Survivors: Loving wife of 10 years, Ophelia Washam Williams; son, Doug Williams; daughters, Mary Adams and husband, Eddie; Shonna (Pebbles) Merritt and husband, Kevin; step-daughter, Debbie Washam Brown. Eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren. Brothers, A. J. Williams, Ben Williams, Jimmy Williams; sisters, Oleda Hutson, Patsy Teems. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services 3 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016, Mountain View Church of God, Luttrell, Rev. Lewis Beeler, Rev. Johnny Pratt officiating with music by Rev. Paul Thomas and Mavis Hughes. Interment will follow at Dyer Cemetery, Luttrell. Pallbearers: Grandsons, Eddie Adams, Jamie Adams, Jason Adams, Adam Williams, Nick Merritt and Taylor Kiser; Honorary Pallbearers: Deacon Board of Mountain View Church of God. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
