Obituary for Jack Edward Muncey

Jack Edward Muncey-age 74 of Maynardville entered into Heaven Saturday afternoon, December 31, 2016 at his home after a long battle with Parkinson disease. He was a member of Black Oak Ridge Baptist Church and a retired employee of Knox Porcelain. He enjoyed Nascar Racing and Tennessee football. Preceded in death by wife of 48 years, Dorothy (Graham) Muncey; parents, Clyde and Allie Muncey; sisters, Anna Lou McCoy and Rowena Cabbage; brother, William “Tody” Muncey; brothers-in-law, Alvin Mills, Don McCoy, Tommy Cowart, Robert “Bob”, Earl and Charles “Buster” Graham; sisters-in-laws, Audrey Alley, Linda Sexton and Brenda Bailey; father and mother-in-law, Rufus and Cora Graham.

Survived by beloved sister-in-law and caregiver, Kaye Merritt; sisters, Jessie Mills, Annette Cowart and Brenda (Sam) Goin; brothers, J. Harold, Paul Don and Earl (Wilma) Muncey; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Roy) Irick, Kaye Merritt, Wanda Oaks, Teresa (Gary) Capps and Debbie (Lloyd) Poore; brothers-in-law, Daniel “D. R.” Cabbage, James “Bud” and Tim (Teresa) Graham. Many other family members and a host of friends. The family would like to thank Kaye and the staff of Amedisys Hospice for providing so much care and compassion for Jack. Special thanks to Ricky and Denise Adams, Margaret and Roy Irick for all their love and care.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Greg Sharp, Rev. Derrick Merritt, Rev. Jack Walker officiating with music by the Union Baptist Church Singers. Interment 12 noon Wednesday, January 4, 2016, Big Barren Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession. Pallbearers: Paul Smith, Dylan Merritt, Ray Cabbage, Jackie Muncey, Roy Irick, Ricky Adams. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
