Obituary for Swan David Baker Jr.

Swan David Baker, Jr. –age 50 of Knoxville passed away suddenly Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home. David was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Testament Baptist Church and formally of Dutch Valley Baptist. He was a former plant operator for Hallsdale-Powell Utility District. David is preceded in death by his father, Swan David Baker, Sr., aunt, Dorothy Lowery, uncles, Paul, James, Mark, and John Baker, Troy Archer, Donnie Archer, and Eddie Archer. Grandparents, Deadrick and Pauline Baker, Johnnie and Dewey Archer.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Sonya Sharp Baker, The two Pride of Joys of his life his, daughter and son-in-law, Chelsea and Ron Varner, daughter, Katelyn Baker and fiancé, Matthew, grandchildren, Jacob Tyler, Chloe Grace, Delilah Miracle, Madison Claire and Zachary. Mother, Alma Charlene Baker, brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Denise Baker.

Visitation 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017 with funeral service to follow 7 p.m. Thursday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Mike Samples officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home 11 a.m. Friday to proceed to New Loyston Cemetery for interment, Ron Varner officiating. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
