James "Jimmy" Grubb  Shumate
James Grubb “Jimmy” Shumate-age 79 of Maynardville passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at his home. He was born February 6, 1939 in Union County. Preceded in death by parents, James A. and Oma Grubb Shumate; infant brother, George Shumate.

James was a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University and the University of Tennessee with degrees in Physics, Environment and Mathematics and also held a teaching certificate. He was a retired school teacher with Union County Schools.

He is survived by several cousins.

The family will receive friends 4-6 P.M. Sunday, March 4, 2018, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville. Private interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
